Hydrocolloid dressings are adhesive wound contact dressings containing hydrocolloids that form a cohesive gel to contain wound exudate, absorb wound fluid, and provide a moist environment supporting the body's healing process whilst aiding removal of unnecessary material without damaging new tissue. These dressings are used for managing wounds ranging from dry to lightly exudating wounds through to exuding partial and full thickness wounds.
