ECG recorders are devices that continuously measure and digitally store ECG signals during a patient's daily activities as part of long-term monitoring , whilst analysis software processes recordings from compatible ECG recorders to detect certain arrhythmias, allowing users to view and edit results and correlate symptomatic patient events for physician review . The recorded data are used to diagnose cardiac arrhythmias , with the devices indicated for use on adult and paediatric patients .
