Electrodes are multi-purpose electrical conductors attached to a patient's skin, typically consisting of flexible and conductive materials with an adhesive such as gel and a connected lead wire, that record or monitor electrical activity on the body surface or provide therapeutic electrical stimuli through the body surface.
