Portable hand-held ultrasound imaging devices are battery-powered assemblies consisting of an ultrasound transducer, data processing unit, and graphical display that collect, display, and analyse ultrasound information during extracorporeal imaging procedures. These devices are used clinically for evaluation of abdominal, obstetric, gynaecological, small parts, peripheral vascular, urological, and musculoskeletal structures, as well as general imaging applications.
