Head/neck positioner base plate

Head and neck positioner base plates are flat plates attached to operating or radiological tables that function as supportive foundations to which various components such as arch frames, thermoplastic masks, headrests and head holders can be attached. They are used to position and immobilise a patient's head during intraoperative procedures such as orthopaedic surgery, or radiological procedures on the brain, head and neck that require reproducible positioning, including serial imaging studies, radiation treatment planning, radiation therapy procedures, stereotactic radiotherapy and stereotactic radiosurgery.
