Thermoregulation devices are cooling and heating systems that achieve temperature control through automated feedback by circulating water through wraps or pads placed on the patient's skin surface, with the water circulated in heated or chilled form to control temperature through conduction. These devices are used where a patient's core temperature needs to be maintained at normothermia levels or be lowered to induce therapeutic hypothermia in conditions such as post cardiac arrest, neonatal hypoxia, and traumatic brain injury.
