Diode lasers are surgical devices that heat targeted diseased tissue and/or blood up to coagulation or vaporisation, with the laser beam delivered through application fibres either directly or via further optic handpieces. These devices are used for soft tissue surgery including implant decontamination, curettage, haemostasis, frenectomy, intracanal bacterial reduction, tooth bleaching and pocket disinfection, as well as for treating vascular and pigmented lesions.
