Polypectomy snares are sterile, flexible, non-powered devices consisting of a flexible sheath with a sharp cutting snare loop attached to the distal end and a handle that mechanically controls snaring through manual action, inserted through an endoscope to ensnare and cut gastrointestinal polyps or other GI mucosal lesions. They are used endoscopically in the removal of diminutive polyps, sessile polyps, pedunculated polyps and tissue from within the GI tract.
