Negative-pressure wound therapy foam dressings are applied to wounds to create an environment that promotes healing by preparing the wound bed for closure, reducing oedema, promoting granulation tissue formation and perfusion, and removing exudate and infectious material. These dressings are used on a range of open wounds including acute and chronic wounds, traumatic wounds, burns, surgical flaps and grafts, and ulcers such as diabetic, pressure and venous insufficiency ulcers, as well as on closed surgical incisions.
