Transcutaneous electrical stimulation devices are mains-powered assemblies that apply various modes of electrical stimulation through the skin to treat or prevent neuromuscular symptoms and disorders, typically comprising an electric current pulse generator, electrodes or probes, and display systems. These devices are typically used to prevent muscle atrophy, for muscle re-education, to relax muscle spasms, to improve blood circulation, for post-surgical calf muscle stimulation to prevent venous thrombosis, and to maintain or increase range of motion.
