Myoelectric hand prostheses are powered artificial substitutes for missing hands that operate via motors controlled by amplified muscle action potentials from the residual limb, detected through surface electrodes that trigger motor-driven movement. These devices are used for exoprosthetic fitting of the upper extremity to enable grasping, pushing, pulling and carrying objects for individuals with arm amputation or limb difference.
