Digit joint replacement devices are intended to replace a finger, thumb or toe joint , and may be made of metal, ceramic, carbon, polymer or a combination of these materials, with designs that are non-constrained, semi-constrained or constrained and may be used with or without bone cement . These devices are indicated for treatment of patients with degenerative and post-traumatic arthritis in the metatarsophalangeal joint, along with clinical conditions including hallux limitus, hallux valgus, hallux rigidus, and unstable or painful joints .
