Ossicular prostheses are replacements of the ossicles of the middle ear intended for stapesplasty or tympanoplasty procedures. These passive implants restore mechanical sound transmission from the tympanic membrane to the oval window, and are used to treat conductive hearing loss caused by destruction or dysfunction of the middle ear ossicular chain in patients of all ages.
