Device Category Dossier for Rotary/reciprocating endodontic file/rasp, single-use. Australian ARTG records, sponsors, device class — compiled by arcimedes.

Rotary or reciprocating endodontic files are dental endpieces made of metal such as stainless steel or nickel-titanium alloy that attach to dental power tool handpieces and debride and enlarge the root canal and smooth its walls by cutting or abrasion, with the working end having a polygonal cross-section with edges. These devices are used during non-surgical endodontic treatment to create glide paths, shape and flare root canals, and remove gutta-percha during retreatment.
