Semi-occlusive wound dressings are devices that cover wounds, provide and support a moist wound environment, and allow the exchange of gases such as oxygen and water vapour through the device. These dressings are used for a variety of superficial skin conditions including abrasions, surgical sites, non-infected wounds, superficial burns, skin grafts, and damaged or compromised skin following resurfacing procedures such as laser therapy, dermal abrasion, and chemical peels.
