Device Category Dossier for Sphygmomanometer, aneroid. Australian ARTG records, sponsors, device class — compiled by arcimedes.

Aneroid sphygmomanometers consist of an inflatable cuff that fits around a limb, an inflation bulb for controlling air pressure, and an aneroid manometer with a metal bellows that expands as pressure increases and transmits this expansion through a mechanical amplifier to an indicator needle rotating around a calibrated scale. These devices are used to measure a person's blood pressure.
