Surgical respirators are form-shaped filtering masks placed over the nose and mouth that permit normal breathing while protecting the wearer from large particles such as blood and body fluids and small particles such as bacteria and viruses. These devices are designed to be worn by healthcare professionals during surgery , though they may also be used by healthcare workers and public users to protect against transfer of microorganisms, blood, bodily fluids and airborne particulates.
