Rectal ultrasound transducer assemblies are imaging devices positioned within the rectum either manually or under endoscopic guidance, comprising single or multiple element transducer configurations that convert electric voltages into ultrasound beams and steer, focus, and detect the ultrasound beam and resulting echoes either mechanically or electronically. Also known as rectal, transrectal, or prostate probes, these devices may incorporate a biopsy needle guidance channel and are used for ultrasound imaging of the prostate and rectal tissues.
