Ophthalmic ultrasound imaging systems are high frequency ultrasonic diagnostic imaging devices intended for use in ophthalmic applications , and mechanically function by transmitting ultrasound to measure corneal thickness, anterior chamber depth, lens thickness, vitreous depth and axial length, whilst generating ultrasound images of the eye and orbit to examine eye diseases . These devices are used in ophthalmology for measuring ocular structures and calculating intraocular lens parameters prior to implantation .
