Video capsule endoscopy system

Capsule endoscopy systems consist of a swallowable capsule endoscope, image recorder, and image workstation; after ingestion, the capsule travels through the gastrointestinal tract, captures images, and transmits them wirelessly to a recorder worn by the patient. These systems are used for clinical diagnosis of small bowel and gastric diseases, with images from other gastrointestinal tract regions providing auxiliary diagnostic information.
