ABG II Cup with HA for Ceramic - Ceramic - Acetabular shell

Intended purpose

A component of a total hip joint prosthesis that is used to replace or repair the acetabulum. Indications include: • Noninflammatory degenerative joint disease, including osteoarthritis and avascular necrosis; • Rheumatoid arthritis (except the OSTEOLOCK HA Acetabular Cup); • Correction of functional deformity; • Revision procedures where other treatments or devices have failed; and, • Nonunions, femoral neck fractures, and trochanteric fractures of the proximal femur with head involvement that are unmanageable using other techniques.

Functional description

Is part of a total hip system that consists of a femoral stem, femoral head, acetabular shell, acetabular liner, and acetabular bone screws. The ABG II Cup is a metal Acetabular Shell designed to be implanted with an acetabular linear to which the linear articulates with a femoral head. Acetabular shells are available with and without screw holes to enhance rotational stability. Note: Any Vacant holes in the cup can be sealed by the surgeon, using the ABG obturator screws.
