Intended purpose

The Met acetabular cup is a component of the Met hip system for use in advanced articular destruction generated by primary degenerative or post-traumatic arthrosis or rheumatoid arthritis; fracture or avascular necrosis; congenital or acquired deformity; • failures of previous operations, like osteosynthesis, articular reconstruction, arthrodesis, hemi- arthroplasty or total arthroplasty. The Met acetabular cup is restricted for use with UHMWPE liners only.

Functional description

The Met-Met acetabular cup prosthesis is used to replace the acetabulum of the hip during a total hip arthroplasty. The Met-Met acetabular cup is coupled together only with a polyethylene (UHMWPE) liner.
