Intended purpose
An acetabular cup for cementless revision treatment of the hip joint after a revision of a primary total hip endoprosthesis or major bone defects of the acetabulum. Hip joint arthroplasty with MUTARS RS cup is indicated, for - large cavitary or segmental acetabular defects (up to type IIIa/IIIb of Paprosky classification) - severe joint destruction with significant impairment where other therapeutic measures are not more promising. - severe joint pain due to degenerative or rheumatoid arthritis, joint fractures or bone necrosis. - post-operative conditions after previous surgery with or without the use of implants.
Functional description
Composed of TiAl6V4 alloy. An acetabular cup for revisions and major bone defects. The system offers different types of articulating liners made of implacross polytethylene or CoCrMo with ceramic coating. For enhanced fixation the implant has a caudal and cranial flange which can be bent to meet the patients’ anatomy. Cancellous screws with diameter 6.5mm are used in the cup and to lock the cranial flange.
