Avantage Cemented Acetabular Cup - Acetabular shell

Intended purpose

The Avantage Cemented Acetabular Cup is component of the Avantage Acetabular System, intended for cemented use in patients requiring primary or revision hip joint replacement to reduce pain and improve hip function. Indications include: 1. Noninflammatory degenerative joint disease (NIDJD), e.g., avascular necrosis, osteoarthritis, and inflammatory joint disease (IJD), e.g., rheumatoid arthritis. 2. Acute traumatic fracture of the femoral head or neck. 3. Failed previous hip surgery including hip arthroplasty.

Functional description

The Avantage Cemented Acetabular Cup is part of a dual mobility implant system, manufactured from stainless steel with a bright polishing finish and surface ridges to allow for cemented fixation. May also be used in combination with a compatible reinforcement cage.
