Intended purpose
GP2-GAP is a neuromotor rehabilitation solution for the upper limb. In particular, GP2 can passively mobilize the metacarpophalangeal, proximal interphalangeal and distal interphalangeal finger joints, associating a series of visual and acoustic stimuli with motor therapy, simultaneously or not. The involving software pushes the patient to complete motor tasks actively. In association with GAP, GP2 offers bilateral, therapist-driven mobilization, active-assisted or completely active exercises: • In bilateral therapy, patient moves his healthy hand to create a similar movement on the impaired one. • In therapist-driven mobilization, the rehabilitation glove replies the movements made by the therapist that wears a sensor glove. • Active-assisted mobilization allows patient to start finger joints movements and complement them with actuators support. • Interactive games do not include actuators. Patient is free to move his or her fingers voluntarily. The system does not support movements but recognizes them in order to give a feedback on the screen. GP2-GAP is a tool for therapists. It assists them in their normal activities to intensify rehabilitation treatment on the patient. Only trained operators can use GP2-GAP.
