Intended purpose
Novobone series bone substitutes act as osteoconductors in bone regeneration surgeries. Being totally cold deproteinized they remodel completely and constitute endogeneous tissue replacements of the patient. The time to complete replacement depends on anatomical variables (ratio of viable bone surface area to graft site volume) as well as individual factors varying from patient to patient.
Functional description
Novobone series dental bone substitutes act as osteoconductors during bone regeneration procedures. The presence of surface porosity stimulates primary osteogenesis, facilitating initial bone integration and subsequent resorption of deproteinized granules during bone remodeling. Being totally deproteinized, they progressively remodel and are replaced by the patient's endogenous tissue.
