Intended purpose

A collection of sterile devices and materials intended to provide short-term introduction of a central venous catheter for treatment of diseases or procedures requiring central venous access including: multiple infusions of fluids, medications, or chemotherapy; frequent blood sampling or blood/blood component infusions; central venous pressure monitoring; lack of usable peripheral IV sites.

Functional description

The set consists of a multi-lumen indwelling catheter along with ancillary components to assist in insertion. Catheter has antimicrobial surface treatment on the catheter body, juncture hub nose, and internal lumen impregnation. CVC may have three to four lumens with leur lock connection and centimeter markings.
