Central venous catheterization kit, short-term

Central venous catheter kits are collections of sterile devices and materials intended to provide short-term introduction of a central venous catheter, with insertion typically achieved via the jugular, subclavian, or femoral veins using established percutaneous techniques. These devices are used for treatment of diseases or procedures requiring central venous access, including multiple infusions of fluids, medications, or chemotherapy; frequent blood sampling or blood/blood component infusions; central venous pressure monitoring; and situations where usable peripheral IV sites are lacking.
