Intended purpose

QuikClot Control+ is intended for temporary control of internal and external mild, moderate, severe, and traumatic bleeding due to injuries and/or surgical wounds.

Functional description

QuikClot Control+ Hemostatic Dressing is designed to absorb blood, and it allows for compression at the injury site to help control bleeding. Kaolin is an ancillary medicinal substance used to accelerate the clotting process. It assists clot formation due to its negatively charged surface. The negatively charged surface interacts with Coagulation Factor XII and platelet-associated Factor XI which activate the intrinsic coagulation cascade.
