Intended purpose

A component of a total knee joint intended to replace the natural patella. General Primary Total Knee Arthroplasty (TKA) Indications: - Painful, disabling joint disease of the knee resulting from noninflammatory degenerative joint disease. - Moderate varus, valgus, or flexion deformity in which the ligamentous structures can be returned to adequate function and stability.

Functional description

This device is designed to articulate with the distal femoral component of a Total Knee Arthroplasty (TKA), the articulating surface is made from Ultra-High Molecular Weight Polyethylene (UHMWPE). The Metal-Backed Patella features Stryker’s Tritanium 3D porus metal technology, made from commercially pure titanium powder (CP Ti). The underside features a three-peg design for fixation to bone.
