Modular Head Component CoCrMo. - Metallic femoral head prosthesis

Intended purpose

The modular femoral head CoCrMo is a component of the Biomet Hip system and is indicated for non-inflammatory degenerative joint disease including osteoarthritis and avascular necrosis; Rheumatoid arthritis; Correction of functional deformity; Treatment of non-union, femoral neck fracture, and trochanteric fractures of the proximal femur with head involvement; unmanageable using other techniques; and revision procedures where other treatment or devices have failed.

Functional description

The Cobalt Chrome Molybdenum (CoCrMo) modular head is friction mounted to stem taper (type 1). It has a highly polished articulating surface. The modular head aligns with the femoral stem and liner.
