Intended purpose

Metallic femoral heads are single-use implants, made of stainless steel (ISO5832/9) and designed to be assembled on a 12/14 Symbios stem taper. The implant is sterile and intended for primary total hip replacement.

Functional description

A sterile implantable metallic femoral head to substitute for a diseased or injured femoral head. It is designed to be attached to the trunnion of a prosthetic femoral stem, and to articulate with an acetabulum prosthesis or acetabular liner as part of a total hip arthroplasty.
