Intended purpose
pORTAL Steerable Hydrophilic Guidewire, is intended for use in extra- and intracranial brain-supplying arteries and in extra- and intracranial brain-draining veins. It can be used to facilitate the selective introduction and positioning of catheters and other interventional devices within target vessels.
Functional description
pORTAL Steerable Hydrophilic Guidewire is a guidewire with a diameter of 0.36 mm (0.014”) and a length of 205 cm. It consists of a radiopaque, distal platinum coil and a core wire. The distal segment has a hydrophilic coating. The distal tip of the guidewire is provided straight, but shapeable. Proximal end is coated with PFTE. If placed inside the target vessel, it may be extended using the optional pORTAL EXT Extension Wire for the exchange of catheters/over the wire devices.
