Peripheral vascular guidewire

Device Category Dossier for Peripheral vascular guidewire. Australian ARTG records, sponsors, device class — compiled by arcimedes.

Peripheral vascular guidewires are long, thin, sterile wires percutaneously placed into the peripheral vasculature to function as guides for the introduction of open-ended devices such as catheters used during procedures performed outside the central circulatory system and central nervous system. These devices are used for the placement and exchange of auxiliary balloon dilation catheters or other therapeutic instruments during percutaneous transluminal angioplasty surgery in peripheral vascular disease.
