Intended purpose

Intended for replacement of the shoulder joint to reduce pain and improve shoulder mobility in comparison with preoperative status.

Functional description

The device replaces the glenoid part of the scapulohumeral joint as part of a total anatomical shoulder prosthesis. The device has pegs that are used to anchor it in position once implanted, and is available in various backside curvatures to preserve cortical bone. It is made of ultra high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE) and contains a radiolucent wire made of cobalt- chromium.
