Intended purpose

The base plate is a component of the Zimmer Trabecular Metal Reverse Shoulder System for the treatment of severe pain or significant disability in degenerative, rheumatoid, or traumatic disease of the glenohumeral joint, ununited humeral head fractures of long duration, irreducible 3-and 4-part proximal humeral fractures, avascular necrosis of the humeral head, or other difficult clinical management problems, and where arthrodesis or resectional arthroplasty is not acceptable.

Functional description

The Zimmer TM Reverse Shoulder Base Plate component is for use in total reverse shoulder arthroplasty. Accepts 2 inverse/reverse screws. It is manufactured from Tivanium Ti-6AL-4V Alloy with Trabecular Metal material diffusion bonded to the backside of the baseplate and is intended for cemented or uncemented fixation.
