Alliance Glenoid System Modular PPS Post - Prosthesis, internal, joint, shoulder, glenoid component

Intended purpose

The Alliance Glenoid Porous Plasma Spray (PPS) Post is intended for use as a component in shoulder joint arthroplasty. The device is indicated for 1. Non-inflammatory degenerative joint disease including osteoarthritis and avascular necrosis. 2. Rheumatoid arthritis. 3. Fractures of the proximal humerus, where other methods of treatment are deemed inadequate. 4. Difficult clinical management problems, where other methods of treatment may not be suitable or may be inadequate. The porous posts may be inserted without bone cement.

Functional description

The central PPS post provides fixation by screwing into the boss in the center back of the Alliance glenoids. The Device can be inserted without bone cement. PPS is made of Ti6Al4V plasma sprayed over a solid Ti6Al4V substrate.
