Device Dossier for CDI Shunt Sensor - Sensor, blood gas, cardiopulmonary bypass, in-line (Sensor, blood gas, cardiopulmonary bypass, in-line, Class III,…

Intended purpose

The disposable CDI™ Shunt Sensor with heparin treatment is intended for use with the CDI™ Monitor during cardiopulmonary bypass procedures when continuous blood gas, pH, and potassium monitoring is desired.

Functional description

The CDI shunt sensor is placed in the extracorpereal tubing circuit through which the patients blood flows such that blood flows through the sensor. The sensor contains microsensors that interact with the patients blood such that the fluorescent light emitted from the microsensors in response to the exciting light signal varies proportionally with the concentration of O2, CO2, K+ and Hydrogen ions (pH).
