Novosyn Quick - Suture, polyglactin

Intended purpose

The indication of Novosyn®Quick suture is soft tissue approximation where only short term wound support is required and where the rapid absorption of the suture would be beneficial. Novosyn®Quick is useful for skin closure, particularly in paediatric surgery, episiotomies, circumcisions and closure of oral mucosa. Novosyn®Quick is contraindicated for applications where extended approximation of tissues under stress or where long term wound support of closure is required. It is also contraindicated for use in cardiovascular tissues and neurological tissues.

Functional description

Novosyn®Quick is a sterile, multifilament, braided, synthetic absorbable surgical suture material composed of a copolymer made from 90 % glycolide and 10 % L-lactide. Novosyn®Quick sutures are available undyed. The braided threads are coated with a mixture of equal parts of an absorbable synthetic copolymer made of glycolide and L-lactide and calcium stearate.
