Intended purpose

Intended for use where only short term wound support is required and also where the rapid absorption of the suture is desirable. The rapid absorption profile is particularly useful for applications such as skin closure including episiotomy repair, circumcision, pediatric surgery, closure of oral mucosa and in ophthalmic surgery for conjunctivas sutures.

Functional description

MITSU FST™is a braided coated synthetic absorbable sterile Polyglactin 910 surgical suture. Coated with equal parts of Polyglactin 370 and calcium stearate. Leads to ingrowth of fibrous connective tissue due to minimal inflammatory tissue reaction. Gradual loss of tensile strength and absorbed by hydrolytic process. Retains 50% tensile strength till 5 days, by 10-14 days tensile strength is completely lost. Complete absorption usually by 42 days.
