Intended purpose

Intended for use in general soft tissue approximation and/or ligation. Can be used in ophthalmic surgery, peripheral nerve anastomosis and microsurgery.

Functional description

MITSU™ is a braided coated synthetic absorbable sterile Polyglactin 910 surgical suture. Coated with a mixture containing equal parts of Polyglactin 370 and calcium stearate. It leads to ingrowth of fibrous connective tissue due to minimal initial inflammatory tissue reaction. It gradually loses tensile strength and is finally absorbed by hydrolytic process. Retains 75% tensile strength until 14 days and 50% until 21 days. Complete absorption usually takes place between 56-70 days.
