Intended purpose
The Ecosorb range is indicated for applications where surgical practice requires the use of synthetic, absorbable, braided, suture materials, mostly in the region of the gastrointestinal tract, in gynecology, urology and also for subcutaneous sutures and ligatures.
Functional description
Ecosorb is an absorbable, sterile suture material made of poly(plycolide-co-lactide)(Glacomer 91). About 60-70% of its tensile strength remains after 14 days of implantation and about 24-42% after 21 days. It is fully absorbed at 60-70 days post implantation.
