Intended purpose
Total hip arthroplasty is intended to replace the damaged hip joint articulation in patients where there is evidence of sufficient sound bone to seat and support the components. 1. A severely painful and/or arthritic joint (typically due to non-inflammatory degenerative joint disease). 2. Failed previous hip surgery. 3. Acute fracture of the femoral head or neck.
Functional description
The Corail Cemented Femoral Stem is made from stainless steel and intended for cemented fixation. It has a quadrangular cross-section with a polished surface finish and incorporates a 12/14 AMT taper to mate with modular metal or ceramic femoral heads articulating with a modular or monobloc acetabular cup in total hip arthroplasty.
