Acetabulum prosthesis apical hole plug

Device Category Dossier for Acetabulum prosthesis apical hole plug. Australian ARTG records, sponsors, device class — compiled by arcimedes.

Acetabulum prosthesis apical hole plugs are small threaded implantable devices, typically made of titanium alloy, that are screwed into place to close the apical hole of a two-piece acetabulum prosthesis after implantation. These plugs limit particle migration towards the acetabulum through the apex hole and are used in total hip arthroplasty for reduction or relief of pain and/or improved hip function in skeletally mature patients.
