Bone cements are polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) materials intended for stable anchoring of joint endoprostheses in bone and for bone reconstruction. These cements are used in arthroplasty procedures to anchor endoprostheses in the hip, knee, ankle, shoulder and elbow, as well as for bone reconstruction via induced membrane technique after tumour surgery and trauma.
