Orthopaedic positioning pins are nonimplantable thin rods intended to be drilled into bone to assist with the positioning of an implantable device and/or surgical instrument during an orthopaedic procedure. They are used intraoperatively to guide the placement of fixation plates, drill guides, and other surgical instruments during orthopaedic procedures.
