Device Category Dossier for Reamer, orthopaedic. Australian ARTG records, sponsors, device class — compiled by arcimedes.

Intramedullary reamers are surgical instruments used to prepare the medullary canal, the hollow centre of a long bone, for the insertion of an intramedullary nail, a type of internal fixation device used to stabilise fractures. These instruments are used in orthopaedic and trauma surgeries to enlarge the medullary canal, allowing for a larger nail to be used, which can improve stability and reduce nonunion rates.
