Soft contact lenses are devices worn directly against the cornea that act as a refractive medium to correct refractive vision conditions such as myopia, hyperopia, astigmatism, and presbyopia. These lenses are made of hydrophilic materials whose polymer molecules absorb water and permit diffusion of oxygen to the ocular surface, enabling wear directly on the eye for vision correction.
